From Touch Footy to Franchise: Sean Armstrong Brings RSGK to the Northern Beaches

The Northern Beaches of Sydney is where salt air, sport, and community come together, and for Sean Armstrong, it is home. It is where he grew up, found his love of sport, and built the confidence that shaped his future. We are thrilled to welcome Sean to the Ready Steady Go Kids family as the new franchise owner for the Lower Northern Beaches region.

Sean discovered Ready Steady Go Kids through local touch footy word of mouth. He kept hearing positive stories from parents whose children had thrived in the program, and as a new father, that immediately struck a chord. What started as curiosity quickly became a bigger vision to bring that same energy and opportunity to more local families.

When it came time to choose his next move, Sean knew the RSGK approach stood out. Danie, the Franchisor, impressed him with her transparency from the very first conversation and encouraged him to speak directly with existing franchise owners. That openness gave him confidence. The multi-sport concept also felt like a perfect fit. Sean loved the idea of introducing children to a variety of sports in a way that stays fresh, fun, and engaging.

For Sean, this venture is deeply personal. As a new dad, he is excited to bring sport to young children in his community and help them build confidence, have fun, and feel proud of what they can do. Those first milestone moments, whether it is catching a ball or completing an obstacle course, are what drive him.

His own story explains why. Growing up in Balgowlah Heights with two older brothers, Sean spent his childhood immersed in athletics, soccer, basketball, cricket, and touch football. But he was also a shy young boy who lacked confidence in social settings. Athletics changed that. It gave him confidence, focus, friendships, and a sense of belonging. Sport shaped the person he is today and remained a strong influence throughout his corporate career.

Launching in the Lower Northern Beaches feels like a return to his roots. Sean knows the area well and believes it is the perfect place for a program that supports gross motor skills, coordination, confidence, and school readiness, all while making sport fun from the very start.

The launch plans for the Lower Northern Beaches region are already well underway. Sean is reaching out to Early Learning Centres to build lasting partnerships and offer incursions that bring the program directly to children during their day. His goal is to build strong community awareness and create a fun, supportive option for local families.

Sean will be running weekend classes at local venues in Seaforth and Manly Vale.

The onboarding process has also been a highlight. Sean has found the in-person training, online modules, and marketing support incredibly thorough, with Danie and fellow franchise owners ready to share advice at every step. That support has helped him feel confident and well prepared for launch.

Over the next twelve months, Sean wants to build a vibrant community of active kids and families excited to try new sports and celebrate new skills. If children leave sessions feeling proud of what they can do, he will see the first year as a huge success.
