Our RSGK Personalised Franchise Support Program
Hello and a very warm welcome to all of our current and future franchise partners within the Ready Steady Go Kids family! I am Danie O'Connor, and as the Franchisor, and I love sharing insights about Franchising within the brand. If you have been following our journey, you know that we are more than just a sports program. We are a community of passionate individuals dedicated to getting children moving and helping them develop a lifelong love for physical activity. I want to pull back the curtain and talk about something very close to my heart: our highly personalised Franchise Support Program.
Starting a business is one of the most exciting adventures you will ever embark upon, but I also know that it can feel a little bit daunting at times. I want you to know that you are never alone in this journey. We have designed a support structure that ensures you have a helping hand, a listening ear, and a strategic mind right beside you every single step of the way.
Why This Program Is Personal To Me
To understand why this support program is so robust, you have to understand where I started. I was the very first Ready Steady Go Kids franchisee. Before I was leading the company as the Franchisor, I was exactly where you are right now. I was the person on the ground, setting up the equipment, talking to parents, and making sure every child had a smile on their face. I have lived through the weekend classes, the administrative challenges, and the pure joy of seeing a class reach full capacity.
Because I was the original franchisee, I deeply understand your pain points. I know what it is like to wonder if your marketing is reaching the right families or how to manage a growing team of coaches. I have faced the same hurdles and celebrated the same victories. This experience is why I have chosen to lead our Franchise Support Program directly. When we talk, you are not talking to someone who has only read about business in a textbook. You are talking to someone who has done the work, felt the pressure, and found the path to success.
The First Twelve Months: Building Your Foundation
The first year of your business is a whirlwind of activity, learning, and growth. We want to make sure that you do not just survive this period, but that you thrive. During your first twelve months, we will be setting aside dedicated time at least once every month to talk specifically and exclusively about your business.
I want to be very clear about what this means. This is not just a quick check-in to see how you are doing. This dedicated monthly time is separate from the regular, ad-hoc communication we will have regarding your onboarding, technical training, and your grand launch. Those daily or weekly communications are essential for the logistics, but our monthly deep dive is something much more strategic.
In these sessions, we focus on the core elements that drive your success. We will look closely at your Key Performance Indicators. We will discuss your staffing levels and how to keep your coaches motivated and inspired. We will review your local marketing efforts to ensure you are getting the best return on your investment. We will talk about your classes, your members, and, most importantly, your long term goals. It is a time for us to step away from the day-to-day tasks and look at the big picture of your franchise.
Growing Into Your Role: 1-2 Years
Once you have successfully navigated your first year, you will find that your confidence has grown immensely. You will have a solid rhythm, a loyal base of families, and a team that understands the Ready Steady Go Kids way. However, the support does not stop there. We want to ensure that you continue to scale and refine your operations.
During your second year, we transition to a scheduled support phone call every quarter. These quarterly sessions are designed to keep you on track and to prevent any complacency from creeping in. By this stage, we are often looking at expansion, optimising your class schedules, and perhaps even looking into new regions. It is about taking the success of year one and making it sustainable for the long term.
Sustaining Excellence: 2 Years and Beyond
For our more experienced franchisees who have been with us for more than two years, the support continues with a scheduled support phone call every six months. By this point, you are a leader in your own right within the community. You have a deep understanding of the business model and the local market. Our bi-annual calls serve as a strategic reset. We look at the changing landscape of children's activities, review your business health, and ensure that you are still finding personal and professional fulfilment in your role.
Even as you become more independent, please remember that the "never alone" promise still stands. While our formal strategy sessions happen every six months, the head office team is always just a phone call or an email away for anything that might arise in between. We are partners in this business, and your success is our success.
The High Performers Group: Reaching The Summit
I am also incredibly excited to talk about a very special initiative called the 'High Performers Group'. This is an exclusive group dedicated to the "best of the best" within our network. Membership in this group is something for every franchisee to strive for. It consists of our top performing franchisees who have achieved incredible results.
To be invited into the High Performers Group, a franchisee must be in the top five for revenue or enrolment numbers across the entire company. Alternatively, they may be invited if they have been nominated as our Franchisee of the Year. This group is about more than just numbers; it is about leadership, innovation, and a commitment to excellence.
Members of this group get to collaborate on a different level, sharing high level strategies and helping to shape the future of the Ready Steady Go Kids brand. It is an amazing way to be recognised for your hard work and to connect with other high achievers who share your drive and passion.
Support Beyond The Structured Program
While the structured support program is a big part of how we help our franchisees, it is only one piece of the puzzle. One of the best things about Ready Steady Go Kids is the way franchisees can connect with each other, share ideas, celebrate wins, and help solve challenges together.
Most states have their own WhatsApp chat groups, which makes it easy to stay in touch with nearby franchisees who understand your local area, your term rhythms, and the day to day reality of running classes. It is a fun and practical way to ask quick questions, swap ideas, and cheer each other on.
We also have a dedicated Franchisee Facebook Group for connecting with the wider network across the country. This gives franchisees a space to share successes, learn from each other, and feel part of something much bigger than their own territory.
In most terms, we also hold state online Teams catch up sessions with me. These sessions are a great chance to reconnect, talk through what is happening on the ground, share updates, and keep the momentum going across each state.
And then there is one of the biggest highlights of all: our Annual Franchisee Conference. This is a true highlight of the year and a real favourite among our franchisees. It is also my favourite time of year because it gives me the chance to get everyone in the same room altogether, and the atmosphere is incredible. It is always such a special time to come together, learn, laugh, celebrate achievements, and enjoy the energy of being in the same room with people who genuinely understand the journey.
A Roadmap For Your Growth
The reason we have structured our support program this way is simple: we want you to have a clear roadmap. We do not want you to ever feel lost or unsupported. By having these scheduled touchpoints, we ensure that no issue goes unaddressed and no opportunity goes unnoticed.
That said, this structured program is a guide, not a rigid rule. Every franchisee is different, and support can be tailored to what you need at each stage of your journey. If you have been in the network for three years and still need a phone call each month or each term, that is absolutely fine too. The most important thing is that you feel supported in the way that works best for you and your business.
We believe that by providing this level of direct access to the franchisor, we are giving you a competitive advantage. You get to learn from the mistakes I made years ago and benefit from the successes I have had since then. We are committed to your growth because we know that when our franchisees are happy and profitable, more children get to experience the magic of our program.
Whether you are looking to start in Metro Sydney or a regional territory, the support remains the same. We are a national brand with a very local, personal feel. We care about you as an individual and as a business owner.
